Songs for a New World by Jason Robert Brown , 9th March 2018 to 10th March 2018 at Headgate Theatre, 14 Chapel Street North, Chapel Street North, Colchester (14 miles)
It's about one moment. It's about hitting the wall and having to make a choice... having to take a stand... or turning round and going back. These are the stories and characters of today. The first musical from Tony Award winner, Jason Robert Brown, this moving collection of powerful songs examines life, love and the choices that we make.
Saturday matinee performance at 1.30pm
Recommended age 12+ due to some strong language
Tickets: £12

BeautifuL , 9th March 2018, 19:30 at DanceEast, Jerwood Dance House, Foundry Lane (0.3 miles)
Following a sell-out performance in 2016, Sally Marie's company Sweetshop Revolution returns to the Jerwood Dancehouse with a brand new piece of dance theatre.
BeautifuL encompasses movement and text, exploring love and sexuality from the point of view of women; what is fantasised about, desired and permissible within the complex web of social structures, expectations and cultural history.
Extraordinary dancers will lead us through their own experience of sexuality and love, and this is contrasted with an exploration of the history of women's sexuality over the last three hundred years.

This piece, along with looking at gender, will also be celebrating the solidarity of woman, taking femininity to a more truthful place, past the gloss of media spin and pressure to conform. BeautifuL is a doorway into a dialogue about how women and men are experiencing relationships, sexuality and the body right now. And at the heart of it lies a question: how do we love and how has it changed?

Macbeth, 23rd March 2018 to 24th March 2018, 19:30 at DanceEast, Jerwood Dance House, Foundry Lane (0.3 miles)
The multi-award winning Mark Bruce Company presents a striking dance theatre adaptation of Shakespeare's Macbeth, a tragic descent into the darkest sides of human nature.

Goaded by the whispers of demons, the Macbeths (Jonathan Goddard, Eleanor Duval) unleash murder for their own gains and set in motion their path to madness and self-destruction, unravelling events in a nightmare they cannot control.

With a cast of nine and designed by the creative team that brought audiences Dracula and The Odyssey, this production realises a beautifully harrowing vision of an internal wasteland formed from the pursuit of power through ruthless means.

Trianon Music Group
Formed in 1959 Trianon's Symphony Orchestra and Choir perform three major concerts a year in various venues, such as Ipswich Corn Exchange and Snape Maltings. Members also take part many other musically associated activities including the annual series of 'Community Concerts' held across the region in support of local churches and other charities.
The Group recruits across a wide age range. Many of its members are at School, College or University, and Trianon provides opportunities for young players to have their first chance to take part in the performance of large scale works. The membership is not confined to young people - there are members who have been in Trianon for many years.
Rehearsals take place in Ipswich during college and school vacations periods, thereby enabling members to belong to Trianon as well as benefit from membership of musical organisations which meet in term time.
New members are always welcome. It is expected that instrumentalists will have achieved a minimum standard equivalent to grade 5 (Associated Board) and be competent sight-readers. There is no audition for either choir or orchestra, although members may be invited to participate on a 'trial' basis.
